Introduced in April 2011 the Pupil Premium is for all schools to enable them to work with pupils who have been registered for free school meals (FSM) at any point in the last six years, any pupil who has been looked continuously after (Children in Care) for more than six months, and pupils of service personnel.
Funding
The Raleigh Federation receives £1,320 per pupil per year for pupils receiving FSM , £1,900 per pupil per year for Children in Care and £300 per pupil per year for service children.
How the Pupil Premium is Spent
Head teachers and school leaders decide how to use the Pupil Premium. They are held accountable for the decisions they make. Here at the Raleigh Federation we use our pupil premium funding to fund our Learning Support Assistants in all classes.
The effectiveness of this is monitored closely by both the class teacher, the SENCO, the Head Teacher and the link Governor for Pupil Premium.
